We are pleased to announce the 2011 Hong Kong Cup (香港盃) will be held in this summer again for both local junior and adult ice hockey players. You are cordially invited to apply to participate in this event. The Hong Kong Cup is subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and your support will bring more attention from the government to help promote and develop ice hockey in Hong Kong.
Details:
- Date: 22, 24, 25, 29, 31 Aug; 1 Sep 2011 (Tentative schedule)
- Venue: Mega Ice, MegaBox
- Entry Requirements: HKIHA members/ HKIHA Registered Clubs members; both men and women
- 2 Divisions – Adult & Junior (4 teams each)
- Playing Format: 4 teams playing single round robin games, semi-finals and finals (each team will play 5 games)
- Game Format:
- 3 minutes warm up
- 3 periods of 13 minutes running time (Adult)/ 12 minutes running time (Junior)
- 1 (30 seconds) timeout per game
- Last 2 minutes stop time if tie or within 2 goal difference
- Entry Fee: HK$600/ player, same price for goalie

ADULT Division
- Age 18 or above, players who age 16 or 17 will be subject to HKIHA’s approval
- Level of play – Hong Kong Ice Hockey League – Div 1 & 2
- Teams:
- 1) Americans – players should hold valid USA passport
- 2) Canadians – players should hold valid Canada passport
- 3) Hong Kong – players should hold valid HK permanent ID
- 4) World – players should hold valid HKID or non-USA, Canada, HK passport
- Minimum 12 players including 1 goalie for each team
- Jerseys and socks will be provided by HKIHA
- Team GM/ captain will be assigned by HKIHA & players will be selected by HKIHA and assigned GM/ captain
JUNIOR Division
- Players shall be born in 2000-2003 and players born in 2000-2001 will have priority to participate
- Teams:
- 1) Gold Club; 2) Penguins; 3) Typhoons All Stars & 4) Typhoons Alliance
- Players shall apply to any teams but priority will be given to players who are the members of its Registered Club and have chosen the respective team
- Minimum 14 players including 1 goalie for each team
- Jersey and socks will be provided by HKIHA Registered Clubs
If you are interested to join this competition, please complete and submit the preliminary entry (ADULT / JUNIOR) form with the followings to HKIHA by post or in person at HKIHA office by Friday, 8 Jul 2011, 5:00pm.
1. A copy of valid HKID or
2. A copy of valid passport (applicable to Adult Division) and
3. Entry fee of HK$600 by a crossed cheque payable to “HongKong Ice Hockey Association Limited”
**All entry fees are non-refundable for selected players. The players who are not selected onto a team will be refunded.
The team rosters will be sent out after the deadline of application. Don’t miss the chance to participate in the Hong Kong Cup this summer.
HKIHA reserves the absolute right to make changes of the teams to help balance the competition and for all final decisions.
