3 points for a win
1 point for a draw
No points for a loss
Semi-finals will be played between 1st seed & 4th seed and 2nd seed & 3rdseed. Winners will play in the gold medal game.

There will be no overtime for single round robin games if the game is tied at the end of regulation. If the semi-finals and/or gold medal game is tied after regulation, teams will play 4 on 4 for 3 minutes (running time) of sudden-death victory overtime. If the game is still tied, a 3 player shoot-out will determine the winner.
~ The team that scores first in the game will have the choice of shooting first or second in the shoot-out. If the game ends in 0 - 0, the team with the fewest penalty minutes will have the first choice. If that remains tied, there will be a coin toss.
~ A player can only shoot once unless all the shooters have taken a shot and there is still a tie. If a team has gone through their lineup of their own roster players they may send out any of their previous shooters to take their second shot. The opposing team may do the same by sending out a previous shooter as long as the other team has gone through their entire roster of their own players. (i.e. Team A has 10 players, Team B has 12 – assuming it is still tied and Team A has used their 10th player, both Team A and Team B has the option to use their first player)
Standings of single round robin games will be based on most points, most wins, head-to-head, lowest goals against, largest goal difference, fewest penalty minutes and followed by coin toss.
8 非法解圍將被判罰。Automatic Icing will be in effect.

Dear Players,
Thank you for coming out to the 2011-2012 HKL Draft Night. It was a packed house at Amici's in Wan Chai. As expected, some surprises but all in all - it was a great night!
The Draft would not have gone as smooth without the support of our Sponsors as well as a number of individuals that helped out. Richard Alanthwaite for an excellent job in the microphone, Grant Phillips, Art Tam, Wilson Wong, Yoann Riou and Rob Porter (and Ritchie) for their help for all set up - the screens and setting up the projectors.
Attached are the results for Division 1 and 2. Games will start next week - Monday, Sept 28 for Div 2, Wed for D3 and Thurs for D1. Your GM's will be contacting you shortly to prepare for next week's games. The full schedule will be on our website later this afternoon. Reminder - all players must have a minimum of a half visor. No visor - No game.
For those that were unable to get onto a team, we will try to see if there are any spots that might open up in the lower divisions, however, if not able to, we will still put you on our LPP (sub) list and process a refund.
Division 3 - Final practice tomorrow night (Sat) from 9:30-11:00pm. Some spots left - please register with mi.hockey@megaice.com.hk. Div 3 Final rosters will be sent out to the registered players on Monday.

Hong Kong Team return from the 12th National Winter Games with the Best Ever result - the 7th Place in China
Hong Kong Team travel to Chang Chun China from Jan 4 to 13 to attend the 12th National Winter Games. Hong Kong was assigned to the group A with the previous Champion Harbin and the 4th place at the 11th National Winter Games Harbin Qianwei (前衛). Hong Kong lost in both matches and will play Chifeng (赤峰市) and Macau. At the 11th National Winter Games, Hong Kong and Macau were the 8th and 9th place finish. At the 12th National Winter Games Hong Kong performs better then expected among the Amatures team, beating Chifeng and Macau finishing 7th place in China.
Team Hong Kong has never lost to Macau in the big events, but Team Macau always threats to score. Macau goal keeper is very experienced, and Team Macau has always be a good defensive team. For Hong Kong to beat them will need a lot of work. Hong Kong did not start the game well, there were nearly no shots until a face off chance at Macau's defensive zone. Justin Lam of Hong Kong had a one timer but was blocked by the Macau's goal tender. Leo Kan picked up the rebound and scored the first goal of the game.
Hong Kong finished the games with 5 more goals scored by the 1st line, consist of Alvin Sham, Terry Choi, Jasper Tang, Bernard Fung, and Nathan Chu. Terry Choi scored his first hat-trick in the tournament.
After the game, team manager Mr. Mike Kan expressed that Team Hong Kong's record is 2 win 2 lost, best ever in the National Winter Games and best ever finish, finishing the 7th place. The kids line did very well, and hopefully their experience will carry them to perform better at the U18 tournament.

Hong Kong opens their first victory over Chifeng (赤峰市)
Hong Kong started the Winter Games versus the professional team - Harbin, and Harbin Qianwei (前衛) a team consist of ex-national team players and ex-provincial players. With both loses brings Hong Kong to the 3rd pool playing Chifeng (赤峰) and Macau.
Chifeng - a team from Hei Lung Zhang region, never imagine to have strong resistance from Hong Kong. Hong Kong finished the game by scoring 16 goals and 0 goals against. There are times when they try to push to score a goal, but our defense stand up against the test, also our Goalie King Ho played an outstanding game. Best player of the game goes to Terence Chim, he had 3 goals and 1 assist in the game, Alvin Sham shines with his line mates as well, as his line scores total of 7 goals total of 15 points. The whole team performs very well after a day of rest with a good practice. The whole team played out the system and the tactics. There are 5 times the team score on the power play and score 1 short-handed goal to completed the 16-0 win. Beside those 3 players, our under 18 players performs well Hayes To and Donald Chow scores 1 goal each, and Chilok Lau has 2 assists.
The whole team was happy with the performance and hopefully we can carry the momentum to our last game of the Winter Games, Jan 12th versus Macau. Last time Hong Kong participated the Winter Games, we finished only 8th place beating only Macau. We hope to be able to perform better and finished 7th place.
